| Simba did all the basic training for sch work when he
was very young. At the beginning he had very good results but soon he get
bored of sleeve work. In this case he tend to ignore sleeve and if
really angry used to attack the face of the agitator. Apart form the basic
obedience training that can be very useful I don't recommend this kind of
training for a fila. If you want to test his capacity to guard or defend
is better to simulate real situations. It's important, even in training,
not to let your fila loose his spontaneity! At least work on it. I
also believe that fila temperament must be always tested. And I have the
really personal opinion that isn't enough he barks and attack without
contact. A really full test must involve some full contact situations
between dog and agitator. I have seen tons of dog (not filas) bark and
jump like hell before being in touch, and then, when the going got tough,
escape. To me it isn't important the bite quality or the catch endurance, but
I’m sure a good dog must be able to effort a real fight without being
scared to be confirmed a strong temperament specimen. |
