Pianist - Composer

 

Luca Trabucco was born in Salerno in 1970 and began his musical studies at Genoa's Nicolò Paganini Conservatorium  with Claudio Proietti in piano and Adelchi Amisano in composition. He subsequently specialized at the "Incontri col Maestro" Pianoforte Academy of Franco Scala at Imola with Lazar Berman, Alexander Lonquich and Riccardo Risaliti, and then with Boris Petrushansky and Piero Rattalino.

Winner of various piano contests, including the "Premio Venezia" in 1993 and the "Premio Città di Treviso" in 1995, he has performed throughout Italy and Europe, while cooperating with important organizations (Teatro Carlo Felice ( Genoa) , Florence Lyceum, Teatro Comunale of Treviso, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Bocconi University (Milan) , Asolo Musica, Università Normale (Pisa), Teatro La Fenice (Venice), and with leading conductors (Enrique Mazzola, Donato Renzetti, etc.). In recent years, though maintaining a truly wide repertory covering every facet of piano literature, he is also committed to realizing the entire piano works of Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel, and also examining twentieth-century french music in general. Recently winner of International Competition "Città di Pavia" 2000 .

He has just published a CD for the Phoenix label with works by Ravel,  Debussy and Messiaen.

Luca Trabucco is also composer, and in 1991 obtained the "Czerny Prize" ; his music is published by Edi-Pan , Rome.
